A fourth generation resident of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, educated at James Madison University (B.S 1978) and George Mason University (J.D. 1981), I have been engaged in the active, general practice of law since 1981, both as a solo practitioner and partner in a small firm. I concentrate on trial work for individuals and small businesses and emphasize criminal defense, plaintiff's personal injury and general civil litigation.  I appear regularly in State and Federal Courts and strive for aggressive advocacy with personal attention and an empathy for my clientele, who often find themselves in a strange and hostile environment. Because I believe people should have easy access to legal representation, I do not charge for most short initial consultations, upon prior appointment.
